About Play-Drums

Michael Alan Prestwood earned a music degree from Ohlone Junior College, taught drums for about 15 years, and wrote method books to support his teaching practice. Of his 15 method books, he only published his Sight Reading Complete series: Volume 1 is for beginners, Volume 2 is an intermediate level and covers all rhythms needed to play most music, and Volume 3 is very advanced covering esoteric and exotic rhythms and time signatures. For fun, he also composes music here and there. Some of his compositions are listed below.
