Roe v Wade is a Rights Issue

Roe v Wade is a rights issue, not a religious issue. It’s about the right of an individual woman to make her own decisions versus a government making them for her.

Get ready for an America susceptible and influenced by EXTREME RELIGIOUS VIEWS. You know, kind of like Iran. Yes, it’s not automatic. Yes, each law will be a battle. Another thing that divides us instead of unites us.

Other Laws Based on Roe v Wade Precedence

Now that Roe v Wade is going to be overturned, all the laws based on that 50 year old precedent are on fragile ground. Many of them can and will be overturned. This will occur at the state level with states passing previously unconstitutional laws.

This change has no limits. Any and all laws are now up for grabs. Why? Now that precedence itself has been weakened, anyone can challenge any existing law. Precedence is one of the pivotal building stones of the American legal system. Because of Republicans, our entire legal system has been weakened.

Get ready for an America where states challenge and pass bad laws including…

  • The “right” of a rapist to force his victim to carry his child to birth will override a women’s right to their beliefs.
  • The “right” of the church to cast contraception in religious terms and coax law makers into passing laws making it illegal for married couples to use contraception will override the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. (see Griswald vs Connecticut)
  • The “right” of the church to cast LGBTQ+ rights as immoral and their right to coax law makers into passing laws making same sex marriages illegal will override the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

The news about the overturning of Roe v Wade sends shockwaves across the nation. Laws based on this half-century-old precedent now stand on fragile ground, ready to be challenged and overturned at the state level. This direction in politics has weakened the entire legal system, leaving any and all laws vulnerable to attack.

The implications of this change are nearly limitless. With precedent weakened, any law is up for grabs. The fundamental building blocks of the American legal system are crumbling. The balance of power between states and the federal government is in flux. This is a moment of great uncertainty, where the rule of law is under threat.

These decisions have brought us to this point, where the “right” of a rapist to force his victim to carry his child to birth takes precedence over a woman’s beliefs. The “right” of the church to cast contraception in religious terms and outlaw its use by married couples outweighs the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. The “right” of the church to brand LGBTQ+ rights as immoral and make same-sex marriages illegal now supersedes the rights of an entire community. The future of America is now in the hands of those who seek to dismantle the very foundation upon which it was built.
