Logic
Reasoning
Formal logic gave humanity a tool for checking thought itself. Aristotle’s syllogisms showed that an argument is not strong just because it sounds persuasive. The conclusion has to follow from the premises. Logic does not replace reality, but it helps clean up our ideas before reality pushes back.

Ignorance
Part of a poem about the carefree ignorance of children.
Truth matters, but not every truth needs your full attention. A germophobe needs good hygiene, not obsessive knowledge of every microbe on every surface. Strive to removing illusions that trap you, but also allow yourself peaceful ignorance when more information does not improve life. Wisdom is calibrated knowing. Turn off the news when you start to feel depressed or angry.

FAQ
What is the difference between reason and logic?
Reasoning
Reasoning is how you move from one idea to another. It uses inference to step forward, and logic to test whether that forward step is valid. The deduction inference seeks certainty, induction seeks probability, and abduction seeks the best explanation. But truth can only come when you allow reality to push back.
