New Ideas
People generate ideas constantly, but novelty is difficult to establish. Most ideas are new only to the thinker, while others are reinterpretations, refinements, or recombinations of existing work. Distinguishing between these cases is rarely straightforward.
In 30 Philosophers: A New Look at Timeless Ideas, I present new interpretations of long-standing philosophical positions, and I also propose several ideas that may be genuinely original. Whether an idea is new to an individual, to a field, or to broader human discourse is often unclear. No ideas arise from nothing; even Einstein’s theory of relativity extended Galileo’s earlier principle of relativity.
This page collects ideas that are exploratory, provisional, and still under development. They are presented as candidates rather than conclusions. As these ideas mature and demonstrate sufficient rigor and originality, I intend to submit them to appropriate peer-reviewed venues.
